Sports Necklace

When researching the world of necklaces a company called Phiten jewellery will always appear as it seems this is an extremely popular creator of a new type of new craze in jewellery for the sports professionals.
I must admit I was slightly shocked at hearing that there was such a thing as a Sports Necklace as I would immediately think of the dangers involved in wearing bracelets or necklaces during any professional or non- professional sport. It really took me back to the days of my Grammar school where all earrings were to be removed unless you had studs and even those had to be covered in unsightly masking tape. Necklaces and bracelets of any description even if a sign of your religion where quickly confiscated. Be it tennis, hockey, lacross, gymnastics, rounders or netball, there would be no exception.
What seems to have become a complete craze to have a such a necklace seems to have been brought on by well known professional athletes; which all seem to be wearing the sports necklace created by Phiten and has even extended to non-professional athletes and sportsmen and women.
This type of necklace has actually been around for several years now and but have only recently received so much hype and popularity. I think that as soon as any new craze is endorsed by a celebrity such as a sport’s professional or an athlete it will quickly catch on and create a demand amongst fans to have these latest accessories that their icons have.
There does seem to be some sort of meaning behind this latest craze of athletes wearing this new sports necklace and it seems to be that it is believed that this jewellery has magnetic properties, which is why professional baseball players and golfers are choosing this magnetic metallic sports necklace as part of their standard uniform. As the creators of these necklaces claim; that by wearing their necklace that this can dramatically reduce shoulder and neck pain.
According to the creator’s claims the sports necklace and the bracelets can really receive many health related benefits. They were originally manufactured specifically for athletes to wear during their competitions and practices.
This type of necklace is made from either silicon or a cloth fabric. Throughout these materials lies a tiny amount of metal which has been fused with titanium. It is the titanium that is described as being the active ingredient that it said to restore harmonious balance and positive energy to the wearers of their sports necklace. It has always been believed that some metals have healing properties such as titanium and copper, and people believe that the magnetic properties of these metals can have extremely good health benefits. Unfortunately there is no concrete scientific proof that this even works or is the case at all but with any new claim that something is a ‘health benefit’ then there will always be millions of people to try and test the theory. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Upon reading the advertising literature for the health benefits of wearing such a necklace include a rise in energy levels, less fatigue and a far greater athletic performance. There has been a sudden rush to buy these products as they are being marketed by the benefits also including that arthritic complaints will reduce as well as all wearers of this titanium based necklace will also experience a reduction in aches and pains.
The sports necklace and bracelets are also designed to enhance an individual’s athletic performance and assist in pain relief. Also said to be a non medicated way to increase the individual’s stamina and reduce minor pains and aches. So many well known athletes have now been seen wearing them whilst playing and also in their day to day lives.
For the low cost of these types of necklaces and bracelets it’s no wonder that so many sports fans are also starting to purchase and wear them too. If for the sake of a little money it might just work in reducing your aches and pains in your shoulder and neck, would you not try wearing one too?
Even the world renowned baseball team, the Boston Red Sox have all been seen wearing the sports necklace and bracelets. Many of the players have said that they believe that the jewellery is giving positive results and might have even contributed to the winning of the world-series... Now that’s a statement!
As there is yet to be scientific proof I personally believe that this type of necklaces and bracelets may have a placebo effect. This in itself I don’t believe causes any harm as this is a relatively low cost item of jewellery and won’t break the bank. I am a huge believer in the placebo effect as the power of the mind is incredible and under rated. If you believe in something enough, it will happen.
